PM-KISAN 24th Instalment October Readiness: Check Status and Finish e-KYC

Quick take: The 23rd PM-KISAN instalment was released on 20 June 2026, and the scheme continues to provide ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments to eligible farmer families through DBT. Based on the four-month cycle, the 24th instalment is expected around October 2026, but the Government has not announced a confirmed release date yet. (Press Information Bureau)

So don't wait for an “October payment date” WhatsApp message.

Use September to check Know Your Status, e-KYC, land/eligibility status and bank details.

Your 20-minute PM-KISAN check

Before the next instalment window:

  • Open the official PM-KISAN portal
  • Find your registration number
  • Open Know Your Status
  • Check e-KYC
  • Check payment status
  • Check bank details/payment information
  • Look for any eligibility or verification message
  • Fix problems before the release announcement

The official KYS page displays payment information including payment status, bank name, UTR number, payment mode and credit date, along with financial-year-wise e-KYC information. (PM-Kisan)

PM-KISAN official portal

First: what is actually confirmed?

As of 22 September 2026:

Confirmed: The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026. More than 9.44 crore farmers received more than ₹18,880 crore through that instalment. (Press Information Bureau)

Expected: The next instalment falls in the next four-month payment cycle, making October 2026 the expected window.

Not confirmed: An exact 24th-instalment release date.

Don't publish or forward a specific October date as government-confirmed unless PM-KISAN/PIB announces it.

PM-KISAN money: the basic rule

Eligible farmer families receive:

₹6,000 per year → 3 instalments → ₹2,000 each

The scheme's official information describes the payment as DBT into beneficiaries' bank accounts, subject to eligibility and the applicable exclusion criteria. (PM-Kisan)

The July 2026 Cabinet decision also approved continuation of PM-KISAN from 2026–27 through 2030–31, with a ₹3.15 lakh crore financial outlay. (Press Information Bureau)

That continuation does not mean every registered farmer automatically receives every future instalment.

Your individual record still has to satisfy the scheme's requirements.

Step 1 — Find your PM-KISAN registration number

If you don't remember your registration number, the official portal provides Know Your Registration Number.

You can search using:

  • registered mobile number, or
  • Aadhaar number

The portal then provides the registration-number lookup flow. (PM-Kisan)

Save the registration number somewhere safe.

It is much easier to track a claim when you have the correct number than when you're searching through old SMS messages.

Step 2 — Open Know Your Status

Go to the official PM-KISAN portal and open Know Your Status.

The current KYS system asks for your registration number and OTP verification to the registered mobile number. (PM-Kisan)

Look at the information shown for your account.

Check these first:

e-KYC

Is it completed?

Payment status

Has the previous instalment been processed/credited?

Bank information

Does the displayed bank/payment information correspond to your account?

Eligibility/verification messages

Is there any hold, exclusion or verification message?

Step 3 — Finish e-KYC if it says “No”

This is the most important September action.

The official PM-KISAN portal explicitly states:

eKYC is MANDATORY for PM-KISAN Registered Farmers. (PM-Kisan)

There are multiple supported routes.

Option 1 — Face-authentication through the PM-KISAN mobile app

The official PM-KISAN e-KYC instructions describe a mobile face-authentication route.

Broadly:

PM-KISAN app → login with registered mobile → Beneficiary Status → e-KYC → Aadhaar number → consent → face scan

The official instructions say successful face scanning completes e-KYC. (PM-Kisan)

You may need the Aadhaar Face RD component used for face authentication.

Option 2 — CSC / assisted biometric e-KYC

If the phone route doesn't work, visit a CSC/authorised service point.

The official PM-KISAN instructions describe biometric Aadhaar authentication through CSC/SSK facilities. (PM-Kisan)

Carry:

  • Aadhaar
  • the mobile number linked to Aadhaar where applicable
  • PM-KISAN registration details

Ask for the e-KYC transaction/confirmation.

Don't hand your phone over permanently to an unknown operator.

After e-KYC: don't assume it's instantly updated

The official PM-KISAN e-KYC guidance says the e-KYC status may take up to 24 hours to reflect in beneficiary status. (PM-Kisan)

So:

Complete e-KYC → wait → check KYS again.

Don't perform the same process repeatedly just because the status didn't change immediately.

Step 4 — Check land/eligibility issues

e-KYC isn't the only thing that can affect payment.

The PM-KISAN portal currently warns that the Department has identified suspected cases potentially falling under scheme exclusion criteria.

The portal specifically mentions examples including:

  • land ownership acquired after 1 February 2019;
  • more than one family member receiving PM-KISAN benefits in circumstances covered by the scheme's rules.

The portal says benefits in such suspected cases may be temporarily withheld pending physical verification. (PM-Kisan)

So if KYS shows a verification/eligibility issue, don't assume another e-KYC attempt will solve it.

Read the actual message.

Step 5 — Check the bank/payment trail

PM-KISAN payments are transferred through DBT.

The official KYS page provides fields for:

  • payment status
  • bank name
  • UTR number
  • payment mode
  • account credited
  • credit date (PM-Kisan)

This is much more useful than simply asking:

“Did PM-KISAN come?”

If a previous instalment failed, identify where the payment trail stopped.

Aadhaar-bank seeding matters

Government information on PM-KISAN states that benefits are transferred to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through DBT. (Press Information Bureau)

If your status indicates a bank/Aadhaar/DBT problem:

Don't wait for the 24th instalment announcement.

Visit your bank and ask them to verify the relevant Aadhaar seeding/DBT status.

Take:

  • passbook
  • Aadhaar
  • bank account details
  • PM-KISAN registration number
What if your mobile number has changed?

The official PM-KISAN portal provides an Update Mobile Number facility. (PM-Kisan)

Don't create a new PM-KISAN registration simply because your old SIM is gone.

First check whether the existing registration can be updated.

Don't confuse these four things

CheckWhat it tells youe-KYCWhether the mandatory KYC requirement is completedKnow Your StatusYour PM-KISAN account/payment/verification informationBank/Aadhaar seedingWhether the DBT payment route is properly configuredLand/eligibility verificationWhether your beneficiary record satisfies applicable scheme requirements

A farmer can have e-KYC completed and still have another issue holding up payment.

If your status says payment is pending

Don't immediately conclude that the scheme has stopped.

Read the complete status.

Look for:

  • e-KYC status
  • eligibility/verification message
  • payment status
  • bank information
  • UTR/payment details
  • any instruction to contact the state/district authority

Take a screenshot.

That screenshot becomes useful when you approach a CSC, agriculture office or grievance channel.

If e-KYC is completed but money still doesn't arrive

Use this sequence:

1. Check KYS

2. Read the payment/eligibility message

3. Check bank/Aadhaar DBT status

4. Check whether land/beneficiary verification is pending

5. Contact the relevant local/state PM-KISAN authority

6. Use the official PM-KISAN grievance facility if necessary

The official portal provides a Query Form with options to raise and check grievances. (PM-Kisan)

Don't pay someone to “unlock” the 24th instalment

There is no reason to pay a WhatsApp operator because they claim:

“October instalment registration has opened.”

Use the official PM-KISAN website.

Never give an unknown person:

  • Aadhaar OTP
  • bank OTP
  • UPI PIN
  • debit-card PIN
  • net-banking password

A CSC can assist with government services; that does not mean the operator needs control of your banking credentials.

The village CSC checklist

If you're going to a CSC, take:

Aadhaar + PM-KISAN registration number + registered mobile + bank passbook

Ask the operator to check:

  1. e-KYC status
  2. beneficiary status
  3. payment status
  4. any pending verification
  5. bank/payment issue

Before leaving, ask for a receipt/reference number for anything actually submitted.

Don't trust “24th instalment date” forwards

The previous instalment was officially released on 20 June 2026. (Press Information Bureau)

The next instalment is expected around October based on the scheme's four-month cycle, but the exact 24th release date has not been officially announced as of 22 September 2026.

So treat messages such as:

“₹2,000 will definitely arrive on 15 October”

as unverified until PM-KISAN/PIB publishes the release announcement.

Family farmer 15-minute clinic

If you manage PM-KISAN records for parents or relatives, do this together:

Farmer 1

  • Registration number
  • KYS
  • e-KYC
  • payment status
  • bank details

Farmer 2

Repeat.

Then

Save screenshots of anything showing:

  • pending
  • rejected
  • verification required
  • payment failed

This is much better than discovering a problem after the instalment release.

One-page October readiness checklist

Before the 24th instalment:

  • PM-KISAN registration number found
  • Know Your Status checked
  • e-KYC = completed
  • Aadhaar details correct
  • Bank details checked
  • Aadhaar/DBT seeding checked where applicable
  • Land/eligibility warning checked
  • Previous payment/UTR checked
  • Mobile number current
  • Screenshot saved
  • Problem raised through official channel if necessary

The simple rule

Don't wait for the ₹2,000 to tell you whether your PM-KISAN record works.

Check it before the payment window.

KYS → e-KYC → bank/DBT → eligibility → fix → re-check.

And remember: October is an expected window, not a confirmed 24th-instalment date yet.

Be Informed. Be Heard.
