In Rajasthan's 2026 panchayat elections, panch and sarpanch votes are counted at the gram panchayat itself right after polling closes, so those results come out the same night. Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti member votes from all four phases are counted together on 20 November 2026 from 8 AM at district headquarters. Official results go up on sec.rajasthan.gov.in.

Updated 5 November 2026

Rajasthan is in the middle of its biggest rural election in six years. Around 4.03 crore voters are choosing members for 41 Zila Parishads, 457 Panchayat Samitis and 14,403 gram panchayats, spread over four phases from 22 October 2026 to 17 November 2026. Phase 3 sarpanch and panch voting is on 5 November 2026, and a lot of people are asking the same two things: when will my village's result come, and where do I see the official numbers? This post answers both, in plain language, with the exact report names on the State Election Commission website.

Two kinds of results, two very different timings

This is the part that confuses people the most, so let's get it out of the way first. Rajasthan runs two separate sets of elections inside each phase.

Set 1: Panch and sarpanch (gram panchayat level). You get a vote for your ward panch and a vote for your sarpanch. These are counted at the gram panchayat headquarters immediately after polling closes, and the Returning Officer declares the winner there itself. So if your village voted on 5 November 2026, you'll usually know your new sarpanch by late night on 5 November 2026 or early morning on 6 November 2026, depending on how many booths your panchayat has.

Set 2: Zila Parishad (ZP) and Panchayat Samiti (PS) members. These are the bigger rural bodies at district and block level. Their votes are not counted on polling day. All the ballots from all four phases are kept safe and counted together on 20 November 2026 from 8 AM at the district headquarters. So even though some districts voted for ZP and PS members way back on 22 October 2026, nobody knows those results until 20 November 2026.

That's why you'll see sarpanch results flowing in every few days, while the ZP and PS picture stays blank till 20 November 2026.

Phase-wise calendar for 2026

The SEC revised its schedule through an order dated 6 October 2026 (No. F.7(1)(1)/पंचा/रानिआ/2024/10090), which also shifted a few districts like Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Salumber between phases. Here's how the four phases look now.

After that come the bigger indirect posts.

Phase 4 and the Pramukh and Pradhan dates come from the SEC press note of 3 October 2026 as reported by PTI and The Hindu. Always cross-check the latest order on the SEC site, because Rajasthan has already revised the calendar once.

Polling for sarpanch and panch runs from 7 AM to 6 PM as per the SEC order.

Where to check sarpanch and panch results

Go to sec.rajasthan.gov.in, open Statistical Reports, and pick the Grampanchayat Election Statistical Reports page. As of 5 November 2026, these are the reports listed there:

☐ Progress of Poll for turnout updates through the day ☐ Contesting Sarpanch to see who stood in your panchayat ☐ Statistics for Nomination ☐ Winner Sarpanch for the declared sarpanch in each gram panchayat ☐ Ward Winning Panch for ward-wise panch winners

In most reports you'll pick your district, then Panchayat Samiti, then gram panchayat. Expect the site to be slow on counting nights. If it doesn't load, try again after some time or early the next morning. The SEC uploads data as Returning Officers feed it in, so a missing name usually means it hasn't been entered yet, not that something's wrong.

There's also a separate turnout page, (Panch/Sarpanch) Polling % & Voter Turnout PS Wise, if you just want to see how much your block voted.

Where to check Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti results on 20 November 2026

On the same Statistical Reports section, open Zila Parishad Member Election Statistical Reports. The useful ones for results day:

☐ Winners & Runner-ups for each ZP ward ☐ Candidate Wise Votes for the full vote count ☐ Party Wise Votes Received and Party-wise Seat Result, also available district-wise ☐ Zila Pramukh Detail and Up- Zila Pramukh Detail, which fill up after 25 November 2026 and 26 November 2026

Panchayat Samiti member results sit on the Panchayat Samiti Member Election Statistical Reports page in the same menu. ZP and PS elections are fought on party symbols, which is why the party-wise tables matter. Sarpanch and panch elections are not on party symbols, so you won't see party-wise sarpanch numbers on the SEC site, whatever WhatsApp forwards say.

Local news channels and district collectorate social media handles also put out winner lists on 20 November 2026, but treat the SEC report as the final word.

How counting works at the gram panchayat

Once polling closes at 6 PM, the polling party and the Returning Officer start counting at the panchayat headquarters itself. Candidates or their agents can sit in. Ward panch votes are tallied ward by ward, then the sarpanch votes for the whole panchayat. The Returning Officer declares the winner and gives the certificate of election.

A day later, the newly elected panches and the sarpanch meet to elect the upsarpanch. That's why the upsarpanch date is always one day after the sarpanch poll in the calendar above.

If there's a tie, the law provides for a draw of lots. If a candidate wants to challenge the result, the route is an election petition before the designated court within the time limit in the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. Our explainer on election petitions after a local body poll covers how that process usually works.

How the Zila Pramukh and Pradhan get chosen

You don't vote directly for the Zila Pramukh (head of the Zila Parishad) or the Pradhan (head of the Panchayat Samiti). After 20 November 2026, the elected ZP members choose the Zila Pramukh on 25 November 2026, and the elected PS members choose the Pradhan on 27 November 2026. Deputies follow a day later.

So if you want to know who'll run your district's rural development money for the next five years, 20 November 2026 tells you which side has the numbers, and 25 November 2026 tells you the actual name. Expect some resort politics and cross-voting stories in between, especially in districts where no party crosses the halfway mark.

Two-child rule: does it still apply in Rajasthan?

This question keeps popping up because of the Supreme Court's order on 4 November 2026 in a Maharashtra sarpanch case, which sent the two-child disqualification question to a larger bench. For Rajasthan, the picture is a bit different. News reports in 2026 say the state removed the two-child condition for panchayat and municipal candidates through the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 2026. If you're a candidate or a voter filing an objection, check the current Act on the state's law portal or ask your Returning Officer before relying on it either way.

What to keep in mind on counting days

☐ Don't trust "result" screenshots on WhatsApp before the SEC uploads them. Fake winner lists do the rounds every election. ☐ Dry day rules and the Model Code of Conduct stay in force in your area until the phase is over. Our post on the Rajasthan panchayat MCC has the dos and don'ts. ☐ Victory processions need police permission. Districts often ban them on counting day. ☐ If you're a candidate, collect your certificate of election and keep copies. You'll need it for the upsarpanch, Pradhan or Pramukh meetings.

What happens after results

Newly elected sarpanches take charge, and the gram panchayat's first meeting is called by the administration. This is a good time to note your sarpanch's name and number, and to start tracking promises. Schemes like the PM Viksit Gram Swaraj Yojana route money through panchayats, so who sits in that chair really matters for your village roads, water and drains.

Frequently asked questions

When will Rajasthan sarpanch results come?

Sarpanch and panch votes are counted at the gram panchayat right after polling ends. So Phase 3 results come on the night of 5 November 2026 and Phase 4 results on the night of 16 November 2026. The SEC website updates as data is entered.

When are Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti results?

All four phases of ZP and PS member votes are counted together on 20 November 2026 from 8 AM at district headquarters.

Where can I see official results?

On sec.rajasthan.gov.in under Statistical Reports. Use the Grampanchayat reports for sarpanch and panch, and the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti member reports for ZP and PS results.

Are sarpanch elections fought on party symbols in Rajasthan?

No. Panch and sarpanch elections are not on party symbols. ZP and PS member elections are, which is why the SEC publishes party-wise results only for those.

When will Zila Pramukh and Pradhan be elected?

Zila Pramukh on 25 November 2026, Up-Zila Pramukh on 26 November 2026, Pradhan on 27 November 2026 and Up-Pradhan on 28 November 2026, as per the SEC calendar reported in October 2026.

My village's result isn't on the site. What should I do?

Wait a few hours and try again, since data entry happens after counting. If it's still missing the next day, call your Returning Officer at the Panchayat Samiti office or the SEC on 0141-2227407.
