Rajasthan Panchayat Elections 2026: Four-Phase Calendar — Who Votes When From 23 October 2026
Rajasthan’s 2026 Panchayati Raj elections will be held in four phases, beginning on 23 October 2026 and extending into November.
The election programme covers 41 Zila Parishads, 457 Panchayat Samitis and 14,403 Gram Panchayats. More than 4.03 crore voters are eligible to participate, with 45,384 polling stations planned across the state. The Print
The important point for voters is that there are two related four-phase schedules:
- Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members vote on 23 October, 29 October, 4 November and 14 November.
- Panch and Sarpanch voters go to the polls two days later in each phase: 25 October, 31 October, 6 November and 16 November. The Print
So your village's polling date depends on the phase assigned to your Gram Panchayat or constituency.
Rajasthan Panchayat Election 2026: The Four Phases
| Phase | Zila Parishad & Panchayat Samiti | Panch & Sarpanch |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 23 October 2026 | 25 October 2026 |
| Phase 2 | 29 October 2026 | 31 October 2026 |
| Phase 3 | 4 November 2026 | 6 November 2026 |
| Phase 4 | 14 November 2026 | 16 November 2026 |
Polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members is scheduled from 7 AM to 6 PM. Panch and Sarpanch polling is also scheduled during the same 7 AM–6 PM window. The Print
What exactly are you voting for?
Rajasthan's Panchayati Raj system has three elected levels:
Gram Panchayat
At the village level, voters directly elect:
- Ward Panch
- Sarpanch
Panchayat Samiti
At the block/intermediate level, voters directly elect:
- Panchayat Samiti members
Zila Parishad
At the district level, voters directly elect:
- Zila Parishad members
The higher leadership positions are subsequently chosen by the elected members.
For example, the Pradhan is elected by Panchayat Samiti members, while the Zila Pramukh is elected by Zila Parishad members.
Who votes on 23 October?
23 October 2026 is Phase 1 polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members.
If your Zila Parishad or Panchayat Samiti constituency falls in Phase 1, this is your polling day for those posts.
The corresponding Panch and Sarpanch polling is on 25 October.
That means voters in a Phase 1 area may have two separate polling days for the different tiers of the Panchayati Raj election. The Print
Phase 2: 29 and 31 October
The second phase follows the same pattern:
29 October 2026
Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members
31 October 2026
Panch and Sarpanch
So don't assume that everyone in Rajasthan votes on 23 October.
Your local election authority will determine which phase applies to your constituency.
Phase 3: 4 and 6 November
The third phase is:
4 November 2026
Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members
6 November 2026
Panch and Sarpanch
Again, the applicable date depends on your constituency or Gram Panchayat.
Phase 4: 14 and 16 November
The final regular polling phase is:
14 November 2026
Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members
16 November 2026
Panch and Sarpanch
Panch and Sarpanch votes are counted at the respective Gram Panchayat headquarters after polling, while counting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members is scheduled for 20 November at district headquarters. The Print
What happens after the Sarpanch election?
The Sarpanch and Panch elections are followed by the election of the Up-Sarpanch.
The scheduled dates are:
- Phase 1: 26 October
- Phase 2: 1 November
- Phase 3: 7 November
- Phase 4: 17 November
The Up-Sarpanch is not directly elected by all voters in the same way as the Sarpanch; the election is conducted after the Panch results. नेता कौन?
What happens after Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti results?
The next stage involves the indirect election of the local-body leadership.
The announced schedule provides:
| Post | Election date |
|---|---|
| Zila Pramukh | 25 November 2026 |
| Up-Zila Pramukh | 26 November 2026 |
| Pradhan | 27 November 2026 |
| Up-Pradhan | 28 November 2026 |
These positions are elected by the relevant elected members rather than directly by the entire electorate. The Print
How many voters are participating?
The State Election Commission's announced figures put the electorate at 4,03,07,308 voters.
This includes:
- 2,08,87,351 men
- 1,94,19,789 women
- 168 third-gender voters
There are 45,384 polling stations for the election. The Print
The number of voters is reported to be about 6.22% higher than in the 2020–21 Panchayati Raj elections. The Print
Why are there more Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads this time?
The 2026 election follows the reorganisation and delimitation of Rajasthan's Panchayati Raj institutions.
The number of:
- Zila Parishads has increased from 33 to 41
- Panchayat Samitis from 352 to 457
The current election therefore uses the reorganised local-government structure. The Print
This is important if you are comparing your current Panchayat or Panchayat Samiti with the 2020–21 election.
Old constituency boundaries and names should not automatically be assumed to be the same in 2026.
Does every Gram Panchayat vote on 25 October?
No.
There are four separate Panch/Sarpanch polling dates:
25 October → Phase 1
31 October → Phase 2
6 November → Phase 3
16 November → Phase 4
Your Gram Panchayat is assigned to one of these phases.
The same principle applies to Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti constituencies.
How do I find my exact polling date?
Don't rely only on a WhatsApp message or a general Rajasthan election calendar.
Check the State Election Commission, Rajasthan for the latest constituency-wise information and election notifications. The Commission's official website is the authoritative source for Panchayati Raj elections. Election Rajasthan
You should verify:
- Your name in the electoral roll.
- Your Gram Panchayat.
- Your Panchayat Samiti.
- Your Zila Parishad constituency.
- Your polling station.
- Your applicable polling date.
The Rajasthan election authorities also provide voter-related services and election information through their official portals. Election Rajasthan
Don't confuse the two polling dates
This is probably the most important point in the entire schedule.
Suppose your area is assigned to Phase 2.
You would have:
29 October → Panchayat Samiti + Zila Parishad
and
31 October → Panch + Sarpanch
These are not the same election and not necessarily the same voting arrangement.
So if you see 29 October on one election notice and 31 October on another, it does not automatically mean one of them is wrong.
What should voters carry?
Before going to the polling station, check the current instructions issued by the State Election Commission and make sure your name appears on the relevant electoral roll.
Carry the identification document permitted under the applicable election instructions.
Most importantly:
Your name must be on the electoral roll.
Having an Aadhaar card or another identity document does not by itself substitute for being an elector in the relevant roll.
What if your name is missing?
Do not wait until polling day to discover the problem.
Check your electoral-roll details in advance through the official election authorities.
If there is an error or your name is missing, follow the applicable correction, inclusion or complaint procedure provided by the election authority.
The Chief Electoral Officer's Rajasthan website also directs citizens to the State Election Commission for Panchayat and municipal-election matters. Election Rajasthan
What is the Model Code of Conduct?
The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) applies during the election period.
It regulates election campaigning and the conduct of political parties, candidates and government authorities.
For citizens, this means that ordinary government services continue, but election-related activities and use of public resources are subject to election rules.
You should also avoid treating unverified claims about candidates, voting dates or election rules as official information.
What about the election result?
For Panch and Sarpanch, counting is scheduled to take place immediately after polling at the relevant Gram Panchayat headquarters.
For Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members, counting is scheduled for 20 November 2026 at district headquarters. The Print
This difference is useful to remember:
Panch/Sarpanch → counting after polling
Panchayat Samiti/Zila Parishad → counting on 20 November

Five things to check before your polling day
☐ Find your name in the electoral roll
☐ Confirm your Gram Panchayat and ward
☐ Check your Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad constituency
☐ Confirm whether you are in Phase 1, 2, 3 or 4
☐ Check the official polling-station and election instructions before leaving home
One important exception
The four-phase programme described above is the main 2026 Panchayati Raj election schedule announced by the State Election Commission.
However, reporting on the Commission's programme notes that Baran, Sri Ganganagar, Karauli and Kota districts have separate timing arrangements, with their elections scheduled after 22 December 2026. Voters in these districts should therefore rely on the specific notification for their area rather than assuming that the October–November dates apply to them. MyCorporator
Bottom line
Rajasthan's Panchayat elections are not a single statewide polling day.
The 2026 schedule works in four phases:
23 Oct → 25 Oct
29 Oct → 31 Oct
4 Nov → 6 Nov
14 Nov → 16 Nov
The first date in each pair is for Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members; the second is for Panch and Sarpanch. The Print
Before polling day, check your exact Gram Panchayat/constituency, electoral-roll entry, polling station and phase through the official Rajasthan election authorities. That is more reliable than assuming that the date used by a neighbouring village applies to your village too.
