Quick take: The official PM-KISAN website confirms that the 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026. PM-KISAN continues to provide ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 to eligible farmer families. The next instalment in the regular cycle would therefore be the 24th, covering the next instalment period, but the official release date has not been announced on the PM-KISAN portal yet. (PM-Kisan)
So don't wait for an "October instalment" message on WhatsApp. Use the official Know Your Status, make sure e-KYC is complete, and check your bank/payment details now.
This is a farmer action checklist, not a policy explainer.
Your 20-Minute PM-KISAN Checklist
Before the next payment window:
1. Open the official portal
PM-KISAN official website
Use Farmers Corner → Know Your Status.
The current KYS page can show:
- Payment status
- Bank name
- UTR number
- Payment mode
- Account credited status
- Credit date
- Financial-year-wise e-KYC status (PM-Kisan)
2. Check e-KYC
The PM-KISAN portal currently states that e-KYC is mandatory for registered PM-KISAN farmers. (PM-Kisan)
3. Check bank details
Make sure the bank account associated with your PM-KISAN record is usable and that the required Aadhaar/bank seeding is in place.
4. Check your land/beneficiary status
If KYS shows an eligibility, verification or land-related issue, resolve that before the payment window.
5. Save the result
Take a screenshot or note down your registration number and any error/status message.
Why e-KYC Matterse-KYC isn't an optional profile update.
The current PM-KISAN portal explicitly says:
eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers. (PM-Kisan)
The department also says that certain suspected exclusion cases can have benefits temporarily withheld pending physical verification. Farmers are directed to check Know Your Status, the PM-KISAN mobile app or Kisan-eMitra for details. (PM-Kisan)
So if your payment hasn't arrived, don't assume the problem is simply "the government hasn't released it."
First check your own record.
How to Complete PM-KISAN e-KYCThere are multiple official routes.
Option 1: Online/OTP route
Use the official PM-KISAN portal and follow the e-KYC option available for your account.
Option 2: Face authentication
The official PM-KISAN e-KYC guidance provides a mobile face-authentication route using the PM-KISAN mobile app and Aadhaar Face RD. (PM-Kisan)
Option 3: CSC
Farmers can also visit a Common Service Centre for biometric-based e-KYC.
The department's published e-KYC guidance says CSC/State Service Centre operators can assist with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication. (PM-Kisan)
Important
Don't give your Aadhaar OTP to a person over a phone call just because they claim to be a CSC operator.
Use the official portal/app or visit the CSC yourself.
Don't Expect e-KYC Status to Change InstantlyThis is one place where farmers can unnecessarily panic.
The PM-KISAN's published e-KYC instructions state that the status can take up to 24 hours to reflect after e-KYC is completed. (PM-Kisan)
So:
Complete e-KYC → wait → check KYS again.
If it still hasn't updated after the stated processing period, investigate rather than repeatedly submitting the same request.
Know Your Status: What Should You Look At?The current official KYS page provides fields for:
CheckWhat it tells youPayment StatusWhether payment has been processedBank NameBank associated with the paymentUTR No.Payment transaction reference when availablePayment ModeHow the payment was processedAccount CreditedWhether the account was creditedCredited OnDate of credite-KYCWhether e-KYC is reflected in the system
(PM-Kisan)
If the payment says "credited"
Don't rely only on the website.
Check your:
Bank statement → passbook → SMS → account transaction history
and match the transaction reference where available.
Keep These Documents TogetherCreate one simple PM-KISAN file containing:
- Aadhaar
- PM-KISAN registration number
- Mobile number registered with PM-KISAN
- Bank passbook
- Land/ownership records
- e-KYC confirmation/status
- Previous payment details
- Any PM-KISAN grievance/reference number
- Screenshots of unresolved errors
You don't need to carry the entire file everywhere.
But when something goes wrong, having everything together can save several trips.
Aadhaar–Bank Seeding: Don't Confuse Two ThingsThis is an important distinction.
Aadhaar being linked to a bank account and Aadhaar-based DBT routing/seeding are related but are not something farmers should casually treat as identical.
PM-KISAN's official website provides separate guidance around Aadhaar seeding and NPCI/DBT transfers. (PM-Kisan)
If KYS or your bank indicates a payment-routing problem, ask the bank specifically whether the account is correctly enabled for the relevant DBT/Aadhaar seeding process.
Don't simply ask:
"Is Aadhaar linked?"
Ask:
"Is my Aadhaar correctly seeded for DBT to this bank account?"What If Your Name or Land Details Are Wrong?
This is where visiting a CSC and repeatedly doing e-KYC may not solve the actual problem.
If your PM-KISAN status shows an issue involving:
- Land records
- Farmer name
- Aadhaar details
- Beneficiary verification
- Eligibility
- Duplicate/family beneficiary records
the underlying record may need correction or verification.
The PM-KISAN portal currently provides options including Update Missing Information, Name Correction as per Aadhaar, beneficiary status and a grievance mechanism. (PM-Kisan)
Fix the source record first.
If Your Payment Is StuckUse this sequence:
Step 1: Open Know Your Status
↓
Step 2: Check e-KYC
↓
Step 3: Check payment status
↓
Step 4: Check bank details/payment information
↓
Step 5: Check whether there is a land/eligibility/verification issue
↓
Step 6: Correct the relevant record
↓
Step 7: If still unresolved, raise a PM-KISAN grievance
The official PM-KISAN grievance page allows farmers to submit and track a query using the relevant registration/temporary number. (PM-Kisan)
What the 24th Instalment Means Right NowAs of 17 September 2026, the official PM-KISAN homepage confirms:
- 23rd instalment: released on 20 June 2026
- Scheme amount: ₹6,000 per year
- Payment structure: three equal ₹2,000 instalments
- e-KYC: mandatory for registered farmers
- Next regular instalment: 24th instalment
- Specific 24th-instalment release date: not announced on the official PM-KISAN homepage at the time of this check. (PM-Kisan)
The PM-KISAN data also shows the regular instalment periods as April–July, August–November and December–March. (PM-Kisan)
So October is a reasonable period to watch because it falls inside the August–November instalment window, but don't publish a specific October release date unless the government announces one.
Don't Fall for "24th Instalment Registration" LinksThere is an important difference between:
Checking your PM-KISAN status
and
registering for a new "24th instalment".
If someone sends you a WhatsApp/SMS link saying:
"PM-KISAN 24th instalment registration has opened — pay ₹___ to activate your payment"
stop.
Go directly to:
pmkisan.gov.in
Do not enter your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP into an unknown website.
If money has already been lost to an online fraud, report it through the official cybercrime channels, including 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
After the Money ArrivesDon't just check the balance.
Verify:
PM-KISAN KYS → Payment status → UTR → bank statement/passbook
The official KYS system specifically provides payment and UTR information for this purpose. (PM-Kisan)
Save the transaction reference if available.
It becomes useful if the payment is later disputed or reversed.
A Simple Village PM-KISAN CheckIf you're helping several farmers in your village, don't collect everyone's Aadhaar or OTP yourself.
Instead, help them follow the same checklist:
Day 1
- Open PM-KISAN
- Find registration number
- Check KYS
- Check e-KYC
- Check bank/payment status
Day 2
- Recheck e-KYC if recently completed
- Note unresolved errors
- Identify whether the issue is bank, land, Aadhaar or beneficiary verification
Day 3
- Visit the appropriate CSC/bank/local agriculture authority if an offline correction is required
- Keep the reference number
This turns a rumour-driven "payment week" into a record-checking exercise.
One Rule for FarmersDon't wait for the instalment announcement to discover that your record has a problem.
The official PM-KISAN portal already gives farmers access to:
- Know Your Status
- e-KYC
- Beneficiary List
- Registration services
- Missing-information updates
- Mobile-number updates
- Grievance submission
- PM-KISAN mobile app information (PM-Kisan)
Check your record first.
How NetaSampark Helps
PM-KISAN is a central government DBT scheme, while the practical correction of records can involve banks, CSCs and state/local implementing machinery.
If a farmer repeatedly encounters a service problem, the useful question is not just "When is the next instalment?"
It is:
"Which part of my record is blocking the payment, and which authority can correct it?"
NetaSampark helps citizens understand that process through practical scheme and government-service guides.
Your Voice, Our Democracy.
Verified against the PM-KISAN portal and its current Know Your Status/e-KYC information on 17 September 2026. The 24th-instalment release date should be updated when the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare officially announces it.
